"Kickball: The Movie" Production Starts Summer 2006

Pre-production has begun on Kickball! The Movie. This new film by Scranton native Blake Monahan will pay homage to the sports underdog/comedy films of the 1980's with a punk rock flair. Take one part "Porky's", one part "Slapshot", and add a dash of "SLC Punk" and you have "Kickball! The Movie." The film will be written produced and directed by Blake Monahan and Jeremy Howell, both employees of Troma Entertainment in NYC and will be executive produced by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, founders of Troma Entertainment and creators of "The Toxic Avenger."

The film will be shot entirely in Scranton with the kind help of the Greater Scranton Film Office and Community Film Project. Every attempt will be made to hire as many local cast and crew members as possible.

Kickball! The Movie is to be the first of many film projects Mr. Monahan and co. will be making in the area.

Keep an eye on the CFP website for casting information!
