The independent digital film Cubes is currently in active post-production. The initial rough cut of the film was assembled this past fall, at which point major post work went into a planned hiatus while the director went into theatrical production on a large cast musical and 17 one-act plays. Some work did continue during the break, including the editing and time-remapping of the scene transitions, the discussion and initial composition of original songs and score, and a great deal of pre-planning and mapping for the next stage of post-production. That stage has now begun full force. The initial rough cut has recently been tightened, trimmed, and tweaked into a fine cut version of the film. Post production is now simultaneously moving into two new areas: the addition of green-screen and composite elements, and the audio mix. Work on both is expected to be completed by mid summer, at which time a premiere screening will be held.
