National Film Challenge (2004)
Members of the Community Film Project have joined forces and will participate in the National Film Challenge. The National Film Challenge is a filmmaking competition wherein participating teams have just one weekend to write, shoot and edit a short film or video. To make things interesting, each team is given a genre for its film, and a character, prop and line of dialogue that must appear in each team's movie.
The National Film Challenge kicks-off on October 1 at 7 pm. The finished film must have a run time between 4 and 8 minutes. Finished films must be submitted by October 4. For more information visit www.filmchallenge.com

After an exciting and challenging weekend for Team CFP, the finished movie and the supporting paperwork were sealed in an Express Mail envelope and postmarked at 9:05 PM Eastern on October 4, 2004 at the US Post Office, Steamtown Mall, Scranton--thus qualifying Team CFP for award consideration.
Jason and Craig, we appreciate all of your tireless work in the editing room, and look forward to seeing the finished movie later this week.
Special thanks to the understanding Post Office cashier who gave us 5 extra minutes to finalize our paperwork in the lobby. Quite a dramatic ending to an exhausting week...
Oh man, what a great weekend! From the Friday night story-jam to shooting right next to a Kerry Rally/Bush Counter-rally to dropping laptops down stairwells the weekend was full of the kind of hecticness that's fin and exhilerating. Mad props to Jason and Craig for putting in the marathon editing session and a round of applause to our star Jack, who is quickly turning into an indie film old pro. Can't wait to see the final product!
Members of the Community Film Project received e-mail confirmation from the National Film Challenge that our 8 minute movie BAD TIME was received on-time. So far, 137 of the 161 teams who registered for the competition successfully submitted their project on-time.
